Rapid Weight Loss: Dangers You Are Exposed To When Trying To Lose Weight Fast

By
Being overweight is something that almost every person in the world tries to avoid. This is especially so considering the number of health risks that one is exposed to when he or she is overweight. This is in addition to the self-esteem problems that come with not being in shape. It is thus not surprising that weight loss diets and fat loss workouts are popular in the world today.
However, in an attempt to shed off excess fat, some people usually use methods that make them to lose weight rapidly, something which is usually to the detriment of their bodies. The following are dangers to which one is exposed to when he or she tries to lose weight rapidly.

It is generally advised for one to make sure that he or she does not lose more than 2 lbs per week. Any weight loss beyond 2 lbs is usually considered dangerous as it usually exposes a person's body to severe health risks. This is so because rapid fat loss usually denies the body the time that it needs to adjust to the loss of weight and thus causing an imbalance in the body's metabolic system, something which can sometimes have catastrophic consequences.

Rapid weight loss can lead to the breakdown of muscle and organ tissues, something which can negatively affect your general health. Some fat loss diets designed to cause rapid weight loss usually lead to a severe deficiency in proteins in a person's body. Since amino acids are important when it comes to muscle regeneration and boosting of the immune system, the body may be forced to use proteins form organs and other muscle tissues, something which can cause a lot of health problems.

Use of diets that are designed to cause rapid weight loss is likely to put you in danger of osteoporosis. This is so especially if the main diet, during the period within which you are trying to lose weight, is deficient of calcium. As a result, your bones will grow weak and thus they will become susceptible to fractures. It is thus important to be wary when you start losing weight faster as this may also imply that your bones are becoming weaker in the process.

Rapid weight loss also puts your heart at risk of failure. This is so because rapid weight changes usually do not give the heart enough time to adjust to the changing circumstances. As a result, quickly gaining weight or losing weight usually causes an increase in stress on the heart muscles. The increased stress may thus lead to heart failure.

Workout for Rapid Fat Loss

By
By far the best way to lose fat is to follow a program that combines weight training, cardio and burst training.. You don't have to spend hours in the gym to do this. Listed below is a sample routine that I have found to be very effective for fat loss.

1. Weight Lifting: You do not need to join a gym to get a good resistance workout. With A set of adjustable dumbbells and a bench you can get a great full body workout. Try to do one exercise for each major body part. I like to follow the 12, 10, 8, 6 rep format. As an example, to work your chest do a dumbbell bench press. Start with a weight that you can easily do, this gets your body warmed up. After doing 12 reps take a 30 second break, increase your weight and do 10 reps. Take another 30 second break and repeat with 8 reps. Your final 6 reps should be at a weight that pushes you to the limit. After your 6 reps take a 1 minute break then move on to the next body part. Following this plan you should be able to complete a full body workout in about 1 hour or less.

2. Cardio: For cardio you just need to pick an exercise that you enjoy and do it for at least 30 minutes. I prefer running, but swimming, biking, basketball or any other activity that gets your heart rate up will work. It is best if it is something that you enjoy. When you enjoy the exercise it will be easier to stick with it and lose weight. To keep it fresh and new try rotating exercises. One day run, on your next cardio day ride a bike and the next cardio workout go for a swim.

3. Burst training: Probably the best weight loss exercise routine. It only takes about 15 minutes but it really jump starts your metabolism. Burst training consists of doing exercises in a circuit one after the other at max intensity with little rest between exercises. Usually after about 10 minutes you will be completely spent.

The weekly routine I follow is to do weights on Monday and Friday. Cardio on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and Burst training on Wednesday. By Sunday I am happy to give my body a break. Try this routine and I think you will be surprised at your quick fat loss.
