Great Tips on Lower Abs Workout for Women

By
Many women overlook strength training as a method of personal fitness. However, it is a great option for women who are trying to build muscle mass as well as keeping your bones strong and healthy. Below, you will find some great tips on lower abs workout for women in which you can use to get a beautiful body shape that every woman has dreamed of. Read on to learn more about the proper weight training for women.

Do not simply focus on weight training. Add high intensity cardio into your routine. This will help you work out your cardio system while developing your muscles. An aerobics class or spinning class could be the perfect addition to your weights.

Hit the weights about three times each week. You do not want to lift every day of the week. You need to allow your muscles to heal between each weight lifting session. Spending thirty minutes to an hour lifting weights every other day is plenty of time to get yourself into good shape.

Do not hit the gym with the hopes of going all out right from the start. Begin small and work your way up to a full workout routine. Keep the weight that you are lifting low and slowly develop your muscles to the point in which they can handle the additional weight. Starting out too heavy could cause you to damage your muscles and actually slow your progress.

Before you lift anything or do any exercises, spend an adequate amount of time warming up. Stretch your muscles and run a mile or two on the treadmill. The better you prepare your muscles for the workout you are about to give them, the better they will be able to handle what they are about to go through. This will also help prevent injury during workouts.

Some women are concerned about "bulking up" through weight training. You do not have to worry about developing the muscles that body builders do. It takes a great deal of hard work, constantly hitting the weights and many supplements to build the muscle that you see in body building competitions.

Do not neglect any of your muscle groups. Each group is equally as important as the others. Many people make the mistake of working the larger muscles while neglecting the smaller ones. This could lead to injury as well as leave some of the areas of your body looking soft.

Hire a personal trainer to get you started. If you are the least bit unsure about the proper way to lift weights, look into hiring a personal trainer. They will be able to help you develop a routine that you will eventually be able to do on your own. This trainer will teach you the best way to warm up, stretch your muscles and the proper way to lift the weights while working out. If you are spending hours lifting weights in the wrong way, you will likely do more damage than good.

Weight training could be just what your body needs to create a good body shape and give you that toned look that many women want. Don't ignore strength training when it comes to working out: it is just as important as cardiovascular exercise. Begin working slowly today, and by this time next year, you will look your best shape.

Free Workout Plans - Aerobic Exercises - It's Not Just Running Anymore!

By
Lets face it, unless you are one of those special people who just love to spend hours running or biking, getting enough aerobic exercise will require a little creativity and commitment. I do enjoy running but unfortunately my knees will not take constant running so I had to come up with other solutions. I divide my aerobic workouts between running, swimming, elliptical, jumping rope, rowing machine and kettlebells. (try a LIGHT kettlebell for 30-45 minutes and you will feel great!)
There are many benefits to aerobic exercise. We all know it will help you lose weight and improve your conditioning but did you know it will also help you:

 1. Stay healthy - Aerobic exercises helps boost your immune system which will help ward off germs.

2. Help with Chronic Illnesses - Helps improve high blood pressure, heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Weight bearing aerobic exercises such as walking can also help with osteoporosis.

3. Keep arteries clear of plaque - Regular aerobic exercise helps raise HDL (good cholesterol) and lower LDL (bad cholesterol)

4. Makes your heart stronger - Aerobic conditioning will help your heart move your blood more efficiently. This means you don't need as many beats to do the same amount of work.

5. Improve your mood - Studies show that regular aerobic exercise can reduce tension and ease depression.

(I personally know the second to be true)

I personally try to do 30-45 minutes 3 days a week. Sometimes more sometimes less depending on what's going on. Personally I wouldn't recommend more than 1 hour 4 times a week unless you are training for a specific event. AND, I always recommend supplementing your cardio with some form of lifting.

Now that you know that it is good for you the question becomes, What do I do? If you are doing little or no aerobic conditioning my first tip is simple...Start Slow! Don't jump right into trying to run 5 miles. Start with quick walks and whenever you feel like you can start jogging. Even if it is just for a few minutes, jog for as far as you can and then walk to recover and keep doing it till you can jog the whole time. Remember aerobic conditioning occurs between 60% and 80% of your maximum heart rate so if your heart is beating TOO FAST then you actually have left aerobic conditioning and entered into anaerobic conditioning.

Now that you know you need to do it, the only thing left is to find something you love to do and do it. Try speed walking, jumping rope, aerobics, elliptical, swimming, stair climbers, bicycling, cross country skiing, skating or just go for a run.

Remember most aerobic activities involve repeated use of one joint or area of your body (runners = legs and knees). The best advice I can give you is switch it up often. Unless you are training for a marathon or something then you don't need to run 5 days a week. Mix it up with a swim or bike ride.

I lost over 25% body fat in a year without dieting. Tired of "doing the right things" and still not losing weight? Try http://fitnessvideotips.com/Workouts.php to get started. Abs Workout - Motivate With a Workout Partner

By
What else can motivate us to do ab workouts? Try a workout partner. Doing ab workouts with a workout partner keeps the workout from getting boring, helps us stay on track and has psychological benefits that go beyond the gym.

Our natural tendency to workout more faithfully in the presence of another person lends itself well to having a workout partner.
More often than not, we can let ourselves down but not others.

Support from family and friends helps us keep going with our training program enabling us to reach that goal.

Because they're cheering us on, it all seems easier. And when we see someone like us able to do that activity, it spurs us on to do it too and keep going with it.

Getting motivated with a workout partner is easier because our partner helps the time pass more quickly.

Chatting with a companion distracts us from the monotony and physical challenges of the session. So we're more likely to stay on track.

Good partners can help challenge and encourage each other to not skip a session when feeling low and unmotivated. There is no bad day with them.

Workout partners help us with accountability with respect to healthier eating habits and can help us attain and maintain our goals. When training isn't boring, we'll be pushed to keep going and the longer we stay at it, the faster we reach our goals.

Working out with a partner also benefits us psychologically because there is a tendency for us to talk about our concerns and personal challenges during the training sessions. The exchange of outlooks and opinions can greatly help us deal with the stress and help us redirect our focus to our end goals.

Get motivated with a workout partner while doing ab workouts. They not only take the boredom out of the routine and keep us on track with our workout goals, but they also help us outside the gym setting by helping us de-stress while we chat and share stories with each other. Let's motivate ourselves with a workout partner - it could be the best abs workout session yet.

Home Workout Routines - Your Key to Health and Fitness

By
Home workout routines are becoming very popular. A WebMD article reported that "63% of American adults are overweight or obese" That means that there is a serious need to do something about our health and fitness. Busy work schedules and family life makes it very hard to find the time to go to a gym, so that's why finding good home workout routines
are important.

Everyone wants to be in shape and have a youthful looking body, but we all know that it takes time and effort. Let's get one thing straight from the beginning. We all know if we are honest with ourselves that there is no magic pill or quick fix to losing weight. It takes good nutrition and moving our bodies. That is the only way to properly lose weight and keep it off. We must feed our bodies with nutritious foods and find a good home fitness plan and make it a lifestyle. And that is what it must become a "Lifestyle".

Home workout routines, which ones right for you?

You can change your fitness level by simply taking a walk after dinner each evening or during your lunch break at work. But for some that just isn't possible. Most home workout programs can be done by using a good top notch DVD fitness workout. You have seen the infomercials for Insanity, P90X and 10 Minute Trainer. These are all good home workout routines, but which one is the right one for you? That's the most important thing to find out. It is time to think about yourself and take charge of your health and fitness.

The workout DVD's usually have different levels of intensity which will give you a great return on it's usabilty for many years.

3 Steps to Success

I believe there are 3 major steps you must take in order to have a successful home workout program.

1. Decide to do something about your health and fitness. If you don't see the importance in it no one else will.

Discover your "WHY". Why you want to make a change. It could be health reasons, frustration with your current lifestyle or any reason you can come back to when you are getting discouraged.

2. Commit to a program. There are many home workout routines to choose from to accomplish your goals.
Choose the right one for you.

3. Support - It is proven that a greater percentage of people that want to lose weight have a better chance to do so when they are supported or are in a support group.

What You Can Get From Pre Workout Supplements

By
When it comes to the sports and athletic world, it's usually not enough to keep a healthy lifestyle, eat a balanced diet, and practice constantly to improve body physique and sports performances. Apart from these, many sports aficionados also invest in different pre workout supplement products to make the most of their training and workout routines. So what does a "best pre workout supplement" claim to offer? Here are some of the benefits typically advertised by such health products.

Grow muscles

A lot of athletes are very particular with their physique. And of course, almost everyone who works out in the gym must possibly have muscle growth as among their key objectives in training.

While lifting weights is essential to grow muscles, different workout supplements are said to maximize the lean muscle growth potential. Such supplements can be used to boost protein development in the body, which, as most of us know, has crucial role in building and repairing muscles and tissues. Some of the top recommended supplements for growing muscles are those that contain BCAAs, whey protein, and high glycemic carbs as ingredients.

Power booster

One of the most well-known benefits of pre workout supplements is the increased energy and power they can give to the user. Enhanced power and stamina will be very essential to keep up with the intense physical requirements and maximize achievement of goals through workout sessions. Creatine monohydrate and taurine are among the most popular ingredients needed if you want to increase your energy levels right after you work out.

Protect muscles

Worn out tissues and muscles are very much common after training. Apart from tell-tale wounds and blisters, one can also experience soreness of muscles, particularly after an intense physical workout. The increase of oxidative stress in the body is also typical when exercising. This can lead to more free radical growth, which in turn can seriously damage the cells. To counteract this effect, antioxidants are used to control and neutralize the negative effect of free radicals. Many pre workout supplements are proven to be helpful in providing the right amount of antioxidants that's very essential in protecting muscles every training session.

Improved endurance

While there are supplements that can guarantee burst of power to maximize training, there are also products that offer longer stamina to keep up with the intense workout. Improving endurance has a lot of useful applications during sports training. Apart from increased endurance, you can also find products that have ingredients proven to reduce the sensation of fatigue.

Despite the huge benefits pre workout supplements can offer, one still needs to be cautious when choosing a product. Ask medical advice, research about the product and related reviews, and only get products from suppliers well-trusted in the industry. And of course, follow the necessary usage recommended so you can make the most of the benefits promised by the product.

Find the best pre workout supplement from reputable shops online. Check out Nutrition Warehouse to browse through their collection of health products.

Are Home Cardio Workout and Fitness Programs Really That Good?

By
Not everyone can make it to the gym when they want, especially with today's hectic lifestyles. This can be particularly frustrating if you're following a fitness workout program for your weight loss management program.
Are there any good cardio and fitness programs on the market that pushes you, as if you were at the gym? One that you can do in the comfort of your own home? Are you better working from a book or a DVD workout?
One thing to consider about DVD format is that you can follow the program on a portable player at the gym instead of keep having to go back to look at a book.

1) But which one to choose?

2) Do you go for one that just does a cardio workout? Or one that targets an all over body workout?

3) Can you really get a good cardio workout in your home?

At least by working out at home when you've missed your gym session, you're not missing out on your fitness workout program.

Ideally all you need is your body and a little space to move about in, while following your workout. That's one question answered.

You should aim to workout as hard at home as you would in the gym. If you really are serious about your fitness then you really should be able to exercise anywhere. So that's another question answered.

Doing a workout out that targets all the major muscle groups intensely in a short period of time helps with both cardio and fitness. Another question answered.

So by the end of the workout you know you worked your body. But should you just be satisfied with a cardio and fitness workout? The physical side alone is not enough, it's no use completing a great workout, then eating and drinking the same old junk.

How about a nutritional guide and a recipe book that compliments the precise exercises that you're doing to help your achieve your goals? What use is a nutrition guide if you haven't got an idea on how to cook the ingredients that maximize the use of the food that you're putting in your body?

So the main answer has to be yes, any fitness program that gives you the best home cardio and fitness workout, plus nutritional guide, recipe book and progress chart will surely help you.

Most experts agree, cardio and fitness training alone is not the whole picture, it involves diet and nutritional change as well. Basically it's a full lifestyle change. But one that reaps rewards not only in how you look, but most importantly, how good you feel.

Train hard, live easy.

I myself, am a gym addict, I go because I really enjoy exercise and the different types of exercises that can be done there. I exercise for my own general health as I now have a heart condition(hereditary) and need to stay on top of it.However, in my past I've trained mainly because of my career ( I was in the forces) and for the sports I took part in, soccer, rugby, American football and free-style kickboxing.I also became a kickboxing instructor (2nd Degree Black Belt), teaching students from beginner to black belt level.

Workout for Rapid Fat Loss

By
By far the best way to lose fat is to follow a program that combines weight training, cardio and burst training.. You don't have to spend hours in the gym to do this. Listed below is a sample routine that I have found to be very effective for fat loss.

1. Weight Lifting: You do not need to join a gym to get a good resistance workout. With A set of adjustable dumbbells and a bench you can get a great full body workout. Try to do one exercise for each major body part. I like to follow the 12, 10, 8, 6 rep format. As an example, to work your chest do a dumbbell bench press. Start with a weight that you can easily do, this gets your body warmed up. After doing 12 reps take a 30 second break, increase your weight and do 10 reps. Take another 30 second break and repeat with 8 reps. Your final 6 reps should be at a weight that pushes you to the limit. After your 6 reps take a 1 minute break then move on to the next body part. Following this plan you should be able to complete a full body workout in about 1 hour or less.

2. Cardio: For cardio you just need to pick an exercise that you enjoy and do it for at least 30 minutes. I prefer running, but swimming, biking, basketball or any other activity that gets your heart rate up will work. It is best if it is something that you enjoy. When you enjoy the exercise it will be easier to stick with it and lose weight. To keep it fresh and new try rotating exercises. One day run, on your next cardio day ride a bike and the next cardio workout go for a swim.

3. Burst training: Probably the best weight loss exercise routine. It only takes about 15 minutes but it really jump starts your metabolism. Burst training consists of doing exercises in a circuit one after the other at max intensity with little rest between exercises. Usually after about 10 minutes you will be completely spent.

The weekly routine I follow is to do weights on Monday and Friday. Cardio on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and Burst training on Wednesday. By Sunday I am happy to give my body a break. Try this routine and I think you will be surprised at your quick fat loss.

Secrets of a Killer Upper Ab Workout

By
A lot of people who work hard to achieve ripped abs do not realize that there is actually no distinction between the upper and the lower abs. In fact, the frontal area of the abs called the rectus abdominis is actually just one muscle. So when a person does abs exercises, the entire rectus abdominis muscle is being worked out.

Thus, an upper ab workout should be done in different angles with various movements to activate different muscle fibers in the abs. This will allow the abs to get a more intense workout and build more muscles in the soonest possible time. An upper ab workout should not only have movements that focus on the upper area of the abs but also on the lower area of the tummy.

Here are three ab exercises that can comprise a fantastic upper ab workout. These exercises involve crunches using a stability ball, bench crunches, and crunches using a weighted cable rope.

This killer upper ab workout starts with crunches using a stability ball. To start this exercise, a person uses a stability ball and puts his lower back on top of the ball. He then slowly pushes the ball towards the area above the shoulder. From this position, he crunches the upper torso while maintaining the ball underneath the shoulders. The person has to go as far as he can before returning to the original position. This can be done for 3 sets with 8-12 repetitions.

The next exercise in this killer upper ab workout is the bench crunches. Instead of performing the usual crunch which has the feet fixed on the ground, the bench crunch is an easier and safer variation, especially on the back. The person lays flat on the ground with the feet extended up on the bench. The legs should be kept parallel with the ground and the thighs maintained at a perpendicular position to the floor.

The arms is kept out as the hands is placed on the ears. The person then crunches the upper torso up to the level of the knees, holding it for 1-2 seconds.

This killer upper ab workout also features crunches using a weighted cable rope. This is a great crunch variation because one can add weight according to resistance level. The exercise begins with the person kneeling in front of a gym cable machine and with the rope attachment linked. The person should be a few feet away from the machine so he can properly do the exercise. Crunch the upper torso towards the legs, giving focus on the ab muscles and folding the body in half. When going up, the back should be straight and then arched when crunching down.

This simple upper ab workout can be done in a few minutes. It is very simple although one exercise needs to have a gym equipment. This upper abdominal workout should be done alternately with a whole body workout and cardiovascular exercises to hasten the development of ripped and sexy abs.

The midsection is perhaps one of the areas of the body that can be very difficult to firm up. Unlike the arms and the legs, the midsection is not relied upon to do daily activities such as walking and carrying a load. This is one reason why it can be quite a challenge for anyone to have sexy abs. One has to devote a lot of time and effort in doing abs exercises that tone down the midsection.

Having a good upper ab workout is a nice first step towards achieving ripped abs. An effective workout for the upper abs should be complemented with a lower abs workout. Ideally, working out the lower abs should come first before doing a workout for the upper ab. This is due to the fact that when working out the lower abs, the upper abs is also worked out. Thus the upper abs may not be able to help in the workout for lower abs if a person does an upper ab workout first.

A good workout for the upper abs involves the long arm weighted crunch, a variation of the popular crunch exercise. To do this exercise a person grabs a dumbbell and lays it on the back, with knees bent just like in any regular crunch. The dumbbell is extended past the head and raised several inches off the ground. The person then exhales to crunch the abs in raising the dumbbell towards the pelvis. The position must be paused for a few seconds before returning to the original position. This routine should be repeated about 10-12 times.

An upper ab workout should also include the V-Up exercise, which may not be commonly performed by fitness enthusiasts but just the same is a very effective program in strengthening the rectus abdominis or the muscle located on the upper part of the abs.

In performing this exercise, a person lies on the floor flat on the back, placing the arms beyond the head and the legs stretched out. The legs and arms are raised simultaneously, touching each other, before returning to the original position. Repeat this routine for up to 15 times, giving some seconds of rest. This exercise can be done for three sets.

The upper ab workout will also have the bicycle crunch which takes its name from its position similar to a person pedaling a bike. To do this exercise, a person is on the floor with the hands placed behind the head. The legs are lifted a couple of inches off the floor.

The person crunches to touch the right knee with the left elbow, while leaving the other leg raised a couple of inches from the ground. The position is then alternated with the left knee kissing the right elbow. This is alternated for about 15 times, doing about 3 sets.

An upper ab workout should be done at least thrice a day, giving the ab muscles enough time to recuperate especially for beginners. By doing this workout, one should have a better shot of getting sexy and flab-less abs.

2 Tips To Lose Weight With Cardio Workout

By
In this article, I'm going to provide you with 2 simple tips how you can lose more weight with your cardio workout sessions.
For those of you who do not know what a cardio workout is - cardio workout is simply exercising on a cardio machine in the gym such as treadmills, rowing machines, upright or recumbent bikes and ellipticals.
It is very common to see people who go to the gym regularly getting on these cardio machines.
Those who use these cardio machines regularly may see some weight loss results within 2 - 3 weeks.
However, as time goes on, your weight loss results may slow down and eventually come to a crashing halt. Here are 2 tips you can apply immediately to stop that from happening:

Tip #01 - Do whatever you can to distract yourself during cardio workouts

I know cardio workouts can be pretty boring - imagine doing the same old thing over and over again, and you'll eventually give up doing cardio workouts because the boredom has gotten to you. One thing you can do is to distract yourself during cardio workouts - some people either listen to music, watch television, read books, or even play hand-held games just to distract themselves throughout the whole process - and before you even know it, your 60 minute cardio workout is over!

Tip #02 - Your body will start burning fewer calories over time

The first time you work on a cardio machine, you'll find that your body burns a lot of calories. However, when you are doing the same type of workout over and over again - over time, your body will adapt to it and your body will start to burn fewer calories.

For example, your body may burn 400 calories when you first start your cardio workout in January. You work on the cardio machine regularly and over time, say, in March, you'll find that your body may only burn 200 calories in each cardio exercise!

The only solution here is to extend the time you work on these cardio machines - let's say in January, you may be working on it for 30 minutes. You may want to extend this to 45 minutes or even 60 minutes in March.

Follow the above 2 tips closely, and I guarantee you that you'll be able to lose weight regularly with your cardio workouts. Good luck.
The above article are some simple tips you can apply immediately to shed off excess fats and weight off your body permanently. To discover more information on how you can successfully lose weight permanently, as well as my secrets to losing 45lbs in 14-days, click here.

Best Workout Tips

By
If you want to lose weight, there are many ways to it. A fairly large number of people opt for exercise which is indeed a very useful and effective method. Deciding as to what should be the intensity of the workouts, what workouts to include, how much time to spend on each set etc. are really difficult decisions. Generally, people have no idea about all these techniques and methods. So for all those who are unaware about the general workout methods, and need some guidance, here are a few best tips:

- You have to be very choosy and selective when it comes to exercise. There are hundreds of workouts for reducing belly fat, but each one of them has its own significance. You cannot use all of them at once. So the best thing is to contact your trainer or someone expert. Try to come up with a plan and choose a few exercises.

- Start off with basic and simple workouts. Do not jump to complicated ones right away. Small and basic ones are easy to handle and are extremely helpful in getting your body used to this new stuff.

- You must be regular. Irregularities will lead you nowhere. If there are unusual gaps, you will have to struggle a lot. So be regular as well as punctual. It is normally suggested to do exercise 5 days a week.

- In any case, you shouldn't spend more than 40 minutes in gym at all because according to expert trainers, after 30 to 40 minutes, you do not get any benefit at all. So the thing is, you must complete your workouts within 30 minutes, and if you think that it's a very short time, you must increase the intensity (or weights).

- Dehydration is very common and you actually lose a lot of water when you are in the gym. This dehydration has to be compensated in one way or another, so you must keep on drinking water throughout the day. Never drink water when you are in the gym or do not drink water before exercise. The idea is to drink water throughout the day instead of drinking a few liters at once before exercise.

- Your body needs proteins for muscle growth. Hence it is strongly recommended to take proteins in any form so that your muscles keep on rebuilding. It's good to use supplements as long as they are rich in protein.

Raspberry ketone supplements are found to be effective for those who want to burn extra fat quickly. But you can use any available supplement after consulting your trainer.

The Benefits of a Full Female Workout Program

By
In order for any aspiring bodybuilder to make it, she should have a good female workout program that incorporates everything needed to tone her body. This program should not only be complete, it should be well-balanced and tailor-made for a woman's body type and what she want to accomplish too.
Bodybuilding exercises are based on two
main workout categories: cardiovascular and weight or strength training. Some say that cardio does the job better while others say that a female workout program based on strength training is the most effective. The reality of the matter is that the type of workout you do depends on what you want your body to look like and what goals you want to achieve. While both cardio and strength training are important parts of muscle building, there are instances wherein one will favor the other to get results. Here's a simplified breakdown to help women bodybuilders out there.

The Benefits of Cardio

Stress Relief -When it comes to breaking free from stress, scientific data has proven cardio workouts to be the winner. A female workout program that includes playing tennis or other similar aerobic activities has been known to reduce stress and clear the head, according to a 2005 article in the European Journal of Sports Science. Cardio training for 15 minutes at least 2-3 times a week significantly relieves people of anxiety and doing this for up to 5 times a week reduces fatigue by almost 50%. Dr. Madhukar Trivedi of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center - Mood Disorders Research Program and Clinic says that doing cardio increases the seratonin in the brain which is one of the neurotransmitters responsible for curing depression. So when stressed, go swimming.

Longevity - The director of the Human Performance Research Laboratory at West Texas A&M University, Dr. Mike Meyers has stated that cardio is one of the best ways to add years to your life. Doing cardio reduces the risk for so many different diseases: obesity, heart problems, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, stroke and some types of cancer. This is primarily because cardio in a female workout program strengthens you heart, allowing it to pump more blood which in turn makes oxygen circulation in your body better. This likewise releases the good cholesterol in your bloodstream by as much as 8% in 8 weeks, says a 2007 study in the Journal of Internal Medicine.

The Benefits of Strength Training

Burning Fat- Doing weight training exercises such as lifting weights gives your body a heightened increase in metabolism up to an hour after working out as your muscles attempt to recover. This means that aside from the calories you've lost while training, you get to lose another 25%. If you lift heavier weights with less than 30 seconds of rest in between sets, you can burn off even more. Dr. Wayne Westcott, the director of research at the South Shore YMCA in Quincy, Massachusetts put it bluntly, "So if you burned 200 calories lifting weights, it's really close to 250 overall... for every 3 pounds of muscle you build, you'll burn an extra 120 calories a day - just vegging - because muscle takes more energy to sustain."

Building Confidence- If you think you look good immediately after a workout, it's not just your vanity talking. A 2006 research by the McMaster University in Ontario showed that women subjects made significant improvements influenced by the physical results they saw. Right after a heavy workout, blood rushes to your muscles, making them swell thus making you look fitter. In addition, the feeling of having conquered some serious poundage is bound to boost anyone's confidence level.

If you want to feel even better about yourself, keep a log of how much you've progressed in terms of how many reps and sets you've been doing and how much weight you've been carrying so you can look back and feel a sense of pride at what you've accomplished. All this can be done with the right female workout program, and of course, with the proper attitude and great advice from professionals and others in the bodybuilding world!

Top Workout Tips to Help You Get in Shape

By
Whether you are just about to embark on a health and fitness program to get in shape or whether you are a health nut who cannot live without a daily jog along the beach, here are some tips that will help you get the most out of your workouts.

Warm Up

Before you begin your workout, you need to warm your muscles and slowly speed up your heart. Starting your workout with low intensity and gradually raising it is the best way to do this. Get the blood flowing through your body by taking a short walk, marching in place or moving through a few basic exercises without intense effort.

S-t-r-e-t-c-h!

After you have warmed your muscles by getting the blood pumping with mild exercise, do some stretches to prepare your muscles for the hard work through which you are about to put them. Flexibility during a workout is imperative to reducing the chance of strain or injury. Stretching after a workout releases the lactic acids that build up during exercise and reduces muscle soreness afterwards.

Time Your Exercise

Effective workouts require the ability to time your exercise. Rushing through a toning or strengthening workout is always a bad idea as your muscles need time to prepare and recuperate. A good way to get the timing down is to count. Count "one and two" as you contract, hold for a count of two at the top of your contraction and count again as you release. Pause for a count of two before doing the next repetition. Between sets, you should rest your muscles for at least 30 seconds.

Breathe Properly

The first response to someone when they say "breathe" is usually a smirk. Of course we are going to breathe! But the truth is, without proper discipline, most of us don't breathe correctly and this is true especially during a workout. Exhale as you tighten or contract and inhale as you lower.

If doing cardio, take the time to notice your breathing. If it is rapid, slow down. If you are holding your breath, as many of us do without realizing it, exhale slowly and start breathing in a rhythmic manner. Take in a few deep breaths every little while to keep your oxygen levels up and your heart pumping the way it should. A good rule of thumb is that if you can't hold a conversation due to heavy breathing, you need to slow down.

Vary Workout Intensity

A key tip for getting in shape is to vary the intensity during your workout. This will increase your fitness level and help you lose weight. Many exercisers believe they should get to a certain level and stay there, but that isn't the case. Your workout benefits are maximized by varying the intensity.

If performing an aerobic workout like running or cycling, warm up slowly as already discussed and gradually step it up until you're at 60% of your maximum heart rate. This is calculated by the formula:
(220 - your age) x 0.6 Example for a 40 year old: (220-40) x 0.6 = 108

Vary your workout intensity by raising and lowering it between 60 and 75% every little while. As your intensity level increases, so does your breathing and your heart rate. At the end of your workout, slowly lower the intensity until you are breathing at a normal pace and your heart rate is back to normal.

Following these workout tips before, during and after your workout routine will help you maximize your workout and get in shape.
