Fat Burning Foods and Recipes - Eat and Stay Thin!

By
What's the fun in dieting when all you are allowed to eat is rabbit food? Its no wonder we never stick to our diets! Wouldn't it be great if we were allowed to eat as much as we wanted, but not pick up any weight? Or better still, lose some of it!
Here are some great fat burning foods and recipes that will allow you to eat when you feel hungry, but will also help boost your metabolism so that you're losing stubborn belly fat at the same time.

I know you're probably keen to get to the recipes (we all know how tough it can be to think of what's for dinner every night!), but let us start by discussing the kind of fat burning foods you can incorporate into your snacks and meals. Try and include one or two of these foods in every meal and you will be moving one step closer to your ideal weight.

Fat Burning Foods
  1. Beans. There, I said it. I know beans aren't everybody's favorite food (well, not mine anyway), so I thought I would get it out of the way first. Beans contain plenty of protein and fibre, so they are great for building muscle and the fibre helps prevent your body from absorbing fat. Of course, the more muscle you build, the faster you will be burning fat too. The more muscle mass you have, the more calories your body needs to burn to sustain the muscles. Building muscle mass is therefore a great way to get your body burning fat naturally.

  2. Eggs are also packed with muscle building protein, which is why eggs are a favorite food for body builders. Eggs also contain B12 which destroys fat cells.

  3. Dairy products contain calcium - also great for boosting metabolism. Low fat cheese and milk contains plenty of calcium and carbohydrates which also help to keep your body from storing fat. Some people advise only using skim milk, but most dietitians will tell you that not all fat is bad for you and recommend low fat milk rather than skim milk.

  4. Green Vegetables provide your body with the nutrients it needs to keep healthy and stay thin. Steam your vegetables to keep them crisp and help retain all those fat burning nutrients. Oh, and try not to drown your lettuce in salad dressing, as that would defeat the purpose of eating them in the first place! If you want a little dressing on your salad, use the light dressings or drizzle some olive oil over the top of your salads.

  5. Wholegrain cereal and oatmeal is a great breakfast option. It contains fibre and complex carbohydrates, and it satisfies your hunger quicker so you don't eat more than you should.

  6. Olive oil is a far better option than regular cooking oil which contains too much fat for our liking. Simply replacing your regular cooking oil with olive oil will give you a much healthier meal, and your cholesterol levels will be kept in check.

  7. Lean meat such as lean beef, chicken, pork and turkey are natural additions to this list thanks to the much needed muscle building protein they add to your diet. Turkey and skinless chicken breasts are probably the best metabolism boosting, muscle building foods you can eat.

  8. Fish is said to be great brain food, but has fat burning benefits as well. Salmon is high in Omega 3 content which lowers your leptin levels and helps burn calories. Tuna contains muscle building protein, and sardines are a body building favorite because of their high levels of protein and fish oil - another awesome fat burner.
Fat Burning Recipes
Having the ingredients is one thing, but putting them together to create a great tasting, fat burning meal can be a daunting task. These 3 fat burning recipes prove that eating healthily does not necessarily have to be a boring, tasteless dining experience.

1. Turkey Meatloaf
Ingredients:
  • 1 package of lean ground turkey meat
  • pinch of sea salt
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 6 chopped walnuts
  • 1 cup chopped spinach
  • 1 bunch of chopped scallions
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins
  • 1/2 packet of buttermilk hidden valley mix
  • 1 tbl. of organic ketchup
Instructions:
Mix all of the ingredients (except the ketchup) together in a bowl until thoroughly combined with the meat. Place in a baking pan and pat down, then spread ketchup on top.
Place in the oven at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
For the last few minutes, switch to broil so that the top gets a nice golden brown finish.

2. Cabbage Soup
Ingredients:
  • 5 carrots, chopped
  • 3 onions, chopped
  • 2 (16 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes, with liquid
  • 1 large head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (15 ounce) can cut green beans, drained
  • 2 quarts tomato juice
  • 2 green bell peppers, diced
  • 10 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth
Instructions:
Place the carrots, onions, tomatoes, cabbage, green beans, peppers, and celery into a large pot. Add onion soup mix, tomato juice, beef broth, and enough water to cover the vegetables. Simmer until vegetables are tender.

3. Tuna Salad
Ingredients:
  • Spice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 4oz Tuna
  • 2 tsp Olive Oil
  • Mesculin Greens
  • Red Onions
  • 1 tbl Balsamic Vinegar
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and coat the tuna on both sides. Place one tablespoon of olive oil in a pan and sear each side on medium heat. In a bowl, throw in the lettuce, onions, balsamic, and olive oil and toss together.

Cut tuna in thin slices and place on salad.

These are just 3 examples of how anybody can make great tasting meals using fat burning foods. Your meals do not necessarily need to be extravagant or even expensive. Use the list of foods in the list above, and try to incorporate 2 or 3 of these ingredients into your meals every day.

Protein Rich Foods

By
Chicken actually contains more protein and less saturated fat than red meat, so if you like chicken, you are in luck. Grilled, broiled or sautéed chicken is best, but if sautéing, remember to use healthy oils like coconut or olive oils to sauté in. White meat turkey breast has more protein than lean red meat, as well (but skip the gravy!).

Eggs are an excellent source of protein--if you eat the yolks. Skipping the yolks cuts down on the benefits, and throws out part of the protein! As a snack or a topping for salads, nuts can't be beat in the protein rich food department. Not only do they have protein, but they contain healthy fats that are good for your heart, skin and hair. Peanut butter is a great source of protein, but it is high in calories, so watch portion sizes. Also remember to reach for natural peanut butter, rather than kinds with added sugar.

Cottage cheese and low-fat chocolate milk are great protein sources to reach for after a tough workout. These two have a lot of protein, and can replenish muscles after exercise. Chocolate milk has a lot of water as well so after a workout it helps with dehydration.

If you want to gain muscle, make sure to eat your protein. Typically, you should eat one gram of protein for every pound of lean muscle mass you have. This keeps your muscles healthy, and keeps your body functioning at its best. Adding more protein can keep you from eating too many carbohydrates and fats, and this leads to less body fat and a leaner physique.

Even if you are not trying to add muscle bulk, but simply want to lose weight and tone up, adding protein is key. For every pound of muscle you add to your body, your metabolism speeds up. The higher your metabolism, the more calories you burn all day long, no matter what you are doing--exercising or even sitting at a desk!

Fast muscle gain can come from adding protein rich foods to your diet. Feeding the body correctly helps it to function at top form, and it helps you see the results you want, quickly. Avoiding carbs and fats, and adding healthy proteins, is the best way to go about adding muscle!
All workout programs require you to recover with protein in order to preserve and build muscle.

How To Burn Fat Faster? Make Sure You Eat The Best Fat Burning Foods!

By
When it comes to knowing how to burn fat it always boils down to the fact that you are what you eat. And, if you want to lose weight, it is also about what types of foods you eat every day. Believe it or not, there are some fat burning foods that are designed to help you burn fat stores in the body much faster than other foods that you probably already include in your daily diet.

Variety is the spice of life and also of your diet. Most of us eat the same things because we know we like them and it's easy. Now, we are challenging you to expand your culinary repertoire and try new tastes that will not only increase your nutrient level but your ability to burn more fat.

What Are The Best Fat Burning Foods To Include in My Diet?

Here are a few of the foods that can help you burn more fat. You should always bear in mind that you need to minimize unhealthy fats and increase your daily consumption of healthier lean meats, fish and vegetables.

1. Whole grains

White flour contains a lot of sugars. Eating foods made from it like pasta and rice can spike your sugar and cause you to overeat. Besides, they are high in calories and most of that is turned to fat in the body. Whole grains, on the other hand, are digested slower so that the blood sugar doesn't spike. And, it takes longer to digest them so more calories are needed for the task. Be sure to check food labels to be sure you are getting whole grain in your cereals, breads, rice and pastas.

2. Eat beans

Beans are an excellent source of fiber and protein. They fill you up and add bulk to any meal. Try eating at least one meatless meal a day or per week to cut down on fat calories.

3. Milk

Milk provides calcium to the body for stronger bones. Even skim milk has calcium so you don't have to stick with whole milk. If you are currently drinking whole milk, take the step down approach and gradually change to two percent, one percent and then skim milk.

4. Broccoli

This superfood is full of helpful nutrients for the body. And, the nature of the vegetable is low in calories and takes longer to digest.

5. Salmon

Omega-3 fatty acids are important for heart health and immunity. The level of leptin in the body is lowered so you can burn fat faster. Eating fish two or three times a week is better and more filling than taking a supplement.

6. Oatmeal

Eating it for breakfast will keep you full and the body using lots of energy to digest it throughout the morning.

If you have to sweeten it, use honey or agave nectar. Raw rolled oats have more value than instant oatmeal with extra calories and sugar. It doesn't have to be painful to change your diet.

In fact, this is a lifestyle change so it will pay for itself in lost fat and increased health. Start with little switches and build up to a totally revamped way of eating that you can sustain for the rest of your life.

8 Foods That Help Burn and Fight Fats

By
The never-ending battle of the bulge is never an easy one for sure. Losing weight and fighting fat takes a lot of willpower, especially when there are temptations you must resist (fatty French fries, sugary donuts, junk foods etc.) should you desire to succeed in losing and maintaining your weight.

But don't fret just yet my friend. There are foods that fight fats, and can greatly assist you in kicking your metabolism up a notch to help you burn more calories?

Showcased here are some of the best foods you can eat and snack on to your heart's content that will help kick those stubborn unwanted fats away. Remember to combine these with some good exercise and a sensible diet, and a more fit and healthy you will be a reality in no time at all.

1. Chew gum whenever you can

The innocuous act of chewing gum can curb appetite and boost metabolism, according to a study done by The New England Journal of Medicine. Based on the research, the simple act of chewing gum speeds up the burning of calories by our body by up to 19 percent. This is a great reason to pack gum wherever you go.

Just make sure to choose sugarless gum for lesser calories.

2. The extracts of green coffee beans

Green coffee beans are the new star in the realm of fitness and health in the fight against fat. Based on reports on a health journal, 16 adults who have undergone the study lost at least 17 pounds or 10.5 percent of total fat in the body in 12 weeks while taking in the aforementioned extract. What is even more amazing is the subjects were not obligated to work out or follow a healthy diet. However, one doctor suggests you combine green coffee beans with exercise and a healthier diet for faster results.

3. Green tea

Green tea is excellent for anyone because it is rich in anti-oxidants called catechins, but based on one study, green tea is also fantastic in fighting fat. Green tea reduces the ability to absorb fat, and enhances the ability of the body to use fat according to one researcher.

4. Keep it hot

Gisele Bundchen, world's most bankable model, reportedly sprinkles cayenne pepper on her food to prepare for her modelling job and maintain her phenomenal body?

Hot and spicy peppers not only add kick to foods, but also give your metabolism that much needed rev up.

Capsaicin, which gives pepper that hot flavor, boosts metabolism by increasing our body heat index.

5. Cold water

Drinking your required 6 to 8 glasses a day helps fight fat and shoot up metabolism according to Oprah's famous doctor, Dr. Mehmet Oz. However, the water you drink must be cold.

A pint of cold water revs up metabolism by up to 30 percent for more than an hour - stimulating the sympathetic nervous system which controls our metabolism. Make this method even more effective by drinking lots of cold water to hydrate before, during, and after your workout for maximum results.

7. Cinnamon

Cinnamon has to be one of the best foods that you can use to fight fats simply because it's so versatile.

Sprinkle this powdery fat fighter on almost anything; from oatmeal, coffee, protein shakes to soups and stews. Aside from helping reduce cholesterol in our body, cinnamon fights weight gain by stabilizing the sugar levels in our blood which in turn reduce cravings and hunger pangs.

8. Curry

This aromatic spice works by reducing the levels of sugar in our blood and boosts the amounts of insulin in the body, pretty much like cinnamon. Curry also forces the fat cells in the body take in glucose, which in turn boosts the process of metabolism.

Fat Burning Foods and Fat Burning Exercises Are a Reality for Everyday Life

By
There are fat burning foods and exercises. The problem with diets is that they are diets. At the beginning with most diets you will lose some weight, maybe muscle and/or water. Not knowing what kind of weight you are losing causes a dilemma. If muscle is what you are losing, you are endangering your chances of burning fat, according to Rob Poulos, a fitness author.

Fat burning foods are not processed, prepared or fast foods, these foods affects fat burning hormones in our body that disrupts these hormones' relationship with
our brain. The fat burning foods consist of fruits, vegetables, fish, eggs and Greek yogurt. Whole grains are good for fiber which is important for a fat burning diet. Whole grains foods are brown rice, barley, wild rice, oatmeal, and popcorn. Beans and nuts are filling and nutritious, 21-30 grams of fiber daily is recommended.

Instead of a diet mentality a person needs to focus on a changed lifestyle mentality, long-term, eating nutritious foods that will satisfy your body and stop the cravings. By incorporating nourishing and nutritious foods in your diet you will change. Fruit and vegetables are the staple of a changed lifestyle. Popcorn, nuts and seeds make a good snack. Beans and lentils will make a satisfying meal.

We over eat because our bodies are not satisfied. Processed or fast foods are the worst type of meals you can eat because of the addicting additives or preservatives in these types of food. Studies are showing that these additives are not needed in the food. The question should be ask than "Why are these additives added to processed or fast foods?"

Forget what the diet and fitness industry is saying about nuts, seeds and eggs. These foods will satisfy your body and stop the craving. Eggs are a nutritious food, 7 grams of protein. Another excellent food is salmon.

Salmon has the omega 3 fatty acids, which is good. Salmon also assists in reducing inflammation and boosts our immune system. Reducing inflammation which will aid the "fatburner" hormone, adiponectin.

According to Rob Poulos, a balance of fats, carbohydrates and proteins will help your body's metabolism, resulting in fat loss. Complex Carbohydrates are whole grains, breads and cereals. Candy, soda pop, and white floured baked goods are energy depriving foods. These types of food you want to avoid.

Protein from lean meats, fish, beans and legumes will assist you burning fat and at the same time satisfying your body, which is crucial. Consuming most of your calories from beans and legumes is a wise choice.

Fat burning exercises are high intensity resistance type (HIRT) exercise and high intensity type exercise (HIT). A combination is an excellent choice and each one is to be done with intensity. High intensity type exercises are walking or elliptical (biking), performed to a point of collapsed. High intensity resistance type exercise is weight lifting, this exercise to be performed briefly, infrequently and intensely. Both of these exercises benefit both men and women with excellent results long-term.

A fat burning diet comes down to the satisfaction of your body. Constantly fighting your body's cravings will make you vulnerable to high calorie foods. Combining the high intensity resistance type (HIRT) exercise and high intensity type exercise (HIT) with a fat burning diet will give you a successful lifestyle.

Robs' technique will not only help you to burn fat but will also give you a healthy body full of energy and strength. Click on the link provided to learn more about the e-book Rob Poulos wrote.

50+ Fitness and Fat-Burning Foods

By
This time of year we are hammered extra heavily with advertisements and claims of the best diet plan. How do you choose the real sound and factual information and skip the hype? Bob and Ron are offering up advice that's scientific-based and free for the taking.
Bob's Experience:

I often read articles, actually mostly ads for the newest weight loss diet plan that includes the magic formula of fat burning foods. Fat burning foods... are there such things? The storyline for these diet plans always seems to suggest that specific foods will actually trigger some physical reaction in our body, or metabolism that causes the burning of body fat. Well, I'm suspect of these claims.

One of the reasons I'm suspect is that as an adult with a history of childhood obesity, and a lifelong propensity to pack on the pounds, I have tried most all of these fat burning food plans. Remember the grapefruit diet? I did it. That one was in college, and BTW, I HATE grapefruit! Did I lose some weight? Yes I did, for a few days, but the balance of the diet plan was so restrictive that I gave up out of sheer boredom.

And frankly, now that I'm 50 plus, I have learned to enjoy an even greater variety of foods and variety is something that I don't feel I should have to give up.

I've also tried other combinations of foods that were all promoted as the sure-fire way to burn extra body fat. I didn't see results. But I have often wondered about the reverse of the fat burning food premise, meaning are there foods that actually promote more fat storage? I have to think there are such foods; fatty meats come to mind. But what about carbohydrates and sugars, do they promote fat storage? What about protein?
My feeling is that carbohydrates get a bad rap, and over fatty foods have been given a pass by such popular and heavily promoted diet plans as Atkins. Personally, I always have said "carbohydrates are your friend"!

Granted I have mixed reasons for this:
1) I truly feel that I have more workout energy if I eat sufficient carbs and
2) I absolutely love pasta. But there are other good sources of carbs that are non-starchy, broccoli for example, and even blueberries, both foods packed with other important nutrients.

Likewise there are alternative sources of protein beyond fatty meats that contain healthy fat sources, like nuts, egg white omelets, fat free organic milk and others. And don't forget that our bodies do need some fat in the diet; just choose the healthy fat sources like olive oil, avocado and almonds, etc.

And as for foods that promote fat storage (or are more prone to pack on the pounds), the guy with the expertise in this area is our friend Ron the Trainer. Listen to what he has to say and then refer to our jointly compiled list of favorite foods for staying lean (or reducing body fat) and building and maintaining your muscle.

Ron's Expertise:
I constantly hear people say that now that they are getting "older" they find it harder to lose weight or maintain the body weight they desire. Unfortunately, many people 50 plus will throw in their age as the reason their body weight isn't where it should be. But, I suspect that IF they hear all of the good advice on weight control AND really, really, really take a hard look at their lifestyle, age isn't the factor in being overweight.

But most people like, even crave a variety of good foods. And for many fitness enthusiast the idea of good food is very different from the average American who struggles with the bathroom scale. I suspect the average American is overeating and more sedentary than the fitness industry and US Government recommends.

Now, onto "fat-burning" foods... well, these are actually natural foods that are lower in fat and will help to contribute to weight control and, in some cases, help to lower cholesterol. The fitness industry recommends:
Natural starchy carbs and whole grains include:
  • Wheat Bread
  • Brown Rice
  • All Varieties of Beans - except refried!
  • Hot cereals such as oatmeal, cream of rice, and others which contain barley, rye or oats
  • Sweet Potatoes and Yams - there is a slight difference
  • White Potatoes - just not French fries!
  • Wheat Pasta
Best vegetable choices are:
  • Asparagus
  • Broccoli
  • Cucumbers
  • Mushrooms
  • Onions
  • Peppers - all colors
  • Spinach
  • Salad greens
  • Tomatoes
  • Zucchini
Lean protein selections:
  • Buffalo
  • Egg Whites (the yolks in eggs are where fat is found)
  • Whey Protein (protein powder supplements)
  • Skinless White Chicken (especially breast meat)
  • Salmon
  • Tuna
  • Lean Ground Turkey
  • Turkey Breast
  • Top Round Steak
  • Flank Steak
Best Fruit Choices:
  • Apples
  • Bananas
  • Blueberries
  • Cantaloupe
  • Grapefruit
  • Grapes
  • Oranges
  • Grapefruit
  • Peaches
  • Pineapple
  • Strawberries
Of course, all of these great food choices are of no value if you prepare them poorly. I interjected a couple of choice "not" directives, but making good food choices and preparing them well (fruit and vegetables in their natural, uncooked state is best) makes all the difference between struggling with the bathroom scale and succeeding. Meat, poultry and fish should be baked, broiled, etc. to bring out the most flavor and be healthiest.

When choosing healthy, non-processed foods, be sure to include those with the healthy fats included, such as almonds, avocados, extra virgin olive oil, flaxseeds, flaxseed oil supplement, walnuts.

Some of the best advice ever regarding food choices is to limit your grocery shopping to the perimeters of the grocery store - fresh, produce, dairy, meats. The lists here may seem as though you are being limited in your choices but really, when eating fresh and healthy, you don't have to eat the same things over and over.

So, 50+ or not, don't throw in the towel when it comes to weight control but also be wary of amazing fat-burning food claims. Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels - so, stay focused on your weight goals, monitor food choices and portions for your 50+/+Fit Quality of LifeStyle!

Fat Burning Foods for Effortless Fat Loss

By
Losing weight is easier when we incorporate fat burning foods into our diet. Fat burning foods work in a variety of ways. Some work because the combination of their components increases our metabolic rate. Some work due to being low in calories and because they require more energy to digest. Others work because they are low in calories and even when ingesting a small quantity of the particular food we feel full. The cooking method selected can also result in a lower calorie count, which ultimately equates to increased fat loss.

Regularly eating fat burning foods with the above qualities will, over time, result in effortless fat loss. Add exercise into the mix, and fat loss will occur at an even faster rate.

Fat Burning Foods - 10 of the Best:
Fruit
Along with being good for us and tasting great, most fruits have excellent fat burning properties. Citrus fruit, in particular, has an abundance of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, which is a proven fat burner. It also has a high water content and a low calorie count. Citrus fruits include oranges, lemons, limes, grape fruit, kiwi fruit, mandarins, tangerines, kumquats and clementines. Other fruits high in vitamin C include apples, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, plums, grapes and tomatoes.

Fruit, in general, increases metabolism and reduces bad cholesterol levels, so try to include it in your diet every day. An easy way of doing this is to have fruit for breakfast and if you feel like a snack, make it fruit.

Blueberries, bananas, mangoes, papaya and pomegranates are other healthy, delicious and satisfying fruits to incorporate into your diet on a regular basis.

Vegetables
The majority of vegetables are low in calorie and contain vitamins and minerals that rev up our metabolism. Most are also fat free and even lower in carbs than fruit. Vegetables that can be eaten in abundance include spinach, broccoli, cabbage, artichokes, beans and peas. Cucumbers, lettuce and celery are also excellent choices because of their very low calorie and high water content.

Due to their higher calorie count, potatoes and sweet potatoes or yams should be eaten in moderation. When you do eat these, try to cook them with their skin on as the skin is a great source of insoluble fiber.

When cooking vegetables, steaming or boiling will not add any calories. If you want to stir-fry your veggies, do so in the so called "good" oils such as olive, soybean, sunflower or sesame oil. Steer clear of deep frying and heavy, fat laden sauces. Instead, use fresh herbs and spices to add flavour.

Oats and Barley
Cereals containing oats or barley are excellent fat burners due to their high insoluble fiber content. Foods containing insoluble fiber satisfies our hunger and keeps us feeling full for longer. When we feel satiated we are less likely to eat large meals or snack on junk food.

Edible Pulses
Chickpeas (garbanzos) and lentils fall under the category of edible pulses, or legumes. They are nutritious, satisfying and with the addition of herbs and spices, very tasty. They are also low in calories and cholesterol, high in fiber and abundant in amino-acids/plant protein.

The variety of uses for these edible pulses is only limited by your imagination. They can be eaten hot in soups or stews or cold in salads and, containing close to 25% protein, they make an ideal meat substitute for vegetarians who can find it hard to get sufficient protein in their diets. Other edible pulses include kidney, navy, string, lima, bush and soy beans and peanuts.

Eggs
In the old days we were told that eating eggs resulted in high cholesterol and that we should only eat the whites and maybe one or two whole eggs per week. Medical opinion on this has changed, and eating an egg a day is now not just considered safe, but encouraged.

Eggs provide us with protein and minerals. They are quite low in calories and low in the saturated, or "bad" fat we should avoid. Some studies have, in fact, shown that a regular consumption of eggs can increase our level of "good" cholesterol.

Veggie omelets combine two fat burning foods. They are quick and easy to make, and the vegetables, herbs and spices used can be changed around so they never become boring.

Some dietary studies have concluded that those who eat an egg for breakfast on a daily basis, along with or instead of toast and cereal, lose double the amount of weight as dieters who eat a carbohydrate based breakfast.

Nuts
Nuts are filling, nutritious and they contain monounsaturated fatty acids, also known as MUFA's. These healthy fats actually burn fat. This makes nuts a far better snack choice than a donut or candy bar and they are just as convenient to grab on the run or pack in your lunch box. Nuts can also be used as an ingredient in salads and stir-fries, or as a coating when baking fish.

We've all had it drummed into us that fats make us fat. You may be surprised to know that this is not necessarily the case, and that people who lack healthy fats in their diet are far more prone to piling on the pounds than those who regularly include moderate amounts of healthy fat. The key here is moderation. Eat a small handful of peanuts, pecans, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, almonds or walnuts every day and reap the health and weight loss benefits. Any more than a small handful though, and you will risk consuming too many calories.

Fish
Fish is an excellent source of protein and being rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, provides us with the good fats our bodies need to stay healthy. It is also low in calories and saturated fat. Any fish is good, providing it is grilled, baked or pan fried and not deep fried or smothered in heavy calorie-laden sauce. The best sources of omega-3 fatty acids include salmon, mackerel, trout and tuna.

Chicken and Turkey
For those who eat meat, white meat such as chicken and turkey is a better option than red meat. Chicken and turkey are excellent fat burning foods as they are high in protein with a low calorie count and carbohydrate level. High protein foods take longer to digest than foods with a low protein content, and more energy is expended in the process. It's important not to consume the chicken or turkey skin as these are high in fat. If you must have red meat, limit it to a small serving two to three times a week at most, and choose lean cuts or pork. As with other foods, the way it is cooked and ingredients added can increase the calorie count substantially.

Water
While not a food, water deserves to be included in this list. Water is essential for life. It keeps our metabolism ticking over, therefore it helps us burn body fat. It also helps flush toxins from our system and it is calorie free.

Foods that contain a lot of water impart a feeling of fullness, so we need less of the food to feel satisfied. Examples include cantaloupes, cucumbers, gourds, chard, papaya and watermelon.

When possible, choose whole foods over processed or refined food, using the fat burning foods above for reference. These fat burning foods contain lower levels of fat and sugar and less calories and carbohydrates than cakes, cookies, pizza and the like. Centering your diet around the former foods and limiting consumption of the latter will ulitmately result in a healthy weight loss.

By
Nutrition plays the most important part when it comes to losing weight. There are a lot of weight loss programs available out there that promise to deliver the results but most of them require you to eat very less or even skip meals which is very unhealthy for the body in the long run. It is better to eat smaller meals throughout the day (5 to 6) rather than starving yourself. Moreover, the choice of foods
that you make can determine whether you will be successful in your weight loss journey or not. Below are the top 3 foods that will make you lose pounds of weight in no time.

Oatmeal.

Oatmeal is one of the best foods for weight loss. It is full of complex carbohydrates that reduce appetite and also promote good health. Having a bowl of oatmeal on daily basis increases your whole grain consumption. These whole grains are full of fibers which are very good for your health and they also keep your stomach filled for a longer period of time with fewer calories. Eating oatmeal also greatly reduces your cholesterol level and helps in reducing the risk of various diseases like heart attack and diabetes.

Steak.

Although, most people have a wrong perception about steak being a fattening food but including it in your diet plan can greatly help you in achieving your weight loss goals. Steak is full of protein that helps in retaining muscle mass and foods rich in protein also speed up your metabolism because your body burns more calories to digest protein rich foods as compared to any other macro-nutrient. Moreover, it tastes real good but the key is to use lean beef with low fat content to get best results.

Olive Oil.

All fats are not equal. It might sound strange but you need to eat certain kinds of fats to lose weight. Healthy fats are also necessary for good health and proper functioning of our body. Dietary fat works as a lubricant or cushion for our joints and it also helps in different types of hormone production in the body. Olive oil is definitely a part of ultimate weight loss diet because it is full of monounsaturated fats that speed up the fat burning process in your body and also lower cholesterol levels. Do not forget to include healthy fats in your diet for long-term and healthy weight loss.
